Cape of Good Hope

On the recommendation of some of our G adventures fellow travellers we booked a day trip to the Cape of Good Hope.  A reasonably cheap breakfast at the hotel (exchange rate is very favorable for New Zealanders - something rare and to be enjoyed). We travelled past a number of expensive coastal suburbs on good roads.

In a months time the hills will be vibrant. The pink Erica's, colorful daisies and proteas are beginning to bloom. We walked up to the lighthouse on a cobbled path with magnificent views on both sides.  Another walk saw us scrambling down a wrong path occasionally resorting to sliding on bottoms. All good fun and at the end the sign "Cape of Good Hope ".

And then on to Simon's bay - the home of the African penguin. We enjoyed walking the board walks and taking photos of these delightful birds and their babies.

And some photos taken from the bus on the way back.

You both look really relaxed. Great scenery. The note about Ericas made me think about the otago area in te summer and all the purple flowers.
