I imagine the next part of the journey will not be something that our friends and family have the "wished we were there" feeling. I must admit I was beginning to think "I wish I wasn't there" too.
A ten hour over night bus trip! Admittedly the seats were horizontal and spacious (similar to business class when flying), but the roads were not as smooth as going through the air.
The bus stopped only once to change drivers and occasionally to pick up passengers and so armed with food and drink to last through the night we climbed to the top deck and got ready for bed.
Harry spent many a waking moment trying to work out what was wrong with the bus's "diff" and I coughed throughout the night, probably keeping many of the others awake. Sorry fellow passengers.
We arrived at 8.00 in the morning and were shown to our rooms and breakfast.
Pucon is a little ski resort - around every corner there are little chalets and cute buildings and in summer it becomes a haven for bush walkers, swimmers and boaters. There are a number of waterfalls and mountains nearby and there is one volcano which overlooks the town and down the main street.
We spent the day visiting hot springs and the surrounding area and in the evening went to a local village where an elderly woman told us about her culture, cooking, games, crafts and music.
